ex D’ESPAIRSRAYs Karyu forms new unit H.U.G.
The unit is based on the “Karyu session band” that performed at DEVIL’S PARTY 2022 in June, which was hosted by Luv PARADE (ex D’ESPAIRSRAY members). The members of H.U.G. are Karyu on guitar, vocalist ryo（ex GULLET、9GOATS BLACK OUT）and Yokoyama Kazutoshi on keyboard, percussion, and sound creator.
ryo and Yokoyama Kazutoshi already had a unit, called TAG, that started in 2013, but decided to form a new one with Karyu for the DEVIL’S PARTY events.
For those who wonder how this unit was formed: Karyu and ryo got to know each other when ryo was still active with GULLET. ryo also offered designs for D’ESPAIRSRAY and K’RONE, the fan club of Karyu’s solo project. Furthermore, Karyu and Yokoyama Kazutoshi’s relationship also goes back to D’ESPAIRSRAY, as well as Angelo, where he was in charge of the sound creation.
The unit has no plans to release music so far, but the demo tapes they created demonstrate their unique and refreshing style as artists and musicians. When the 3 were asked what the unit meant to them, they answered the following:

“I want to demonstrate my full potential and take over the world”
Yokoyama
The name was chosen based on their wish to hug as many people as possible through their music. The unit will participate in the DEVIL’S PARTY 2022 Vo.2, hosted by Luv PARADE, on the 8th of September. Please check them out and see for yourself what this new unit has to offer!
