ACME

While their music alone is more than enough reason to love them, their colorful personalities and hilarious but insightful answers make this interview even better! They are always interested in reaching out to their overseas fans, and they’ve shared very interesting insights and experiences from their US Tour.

BLVCKBERRY

Despite being a new band that just celebrated their first anniversary, BLVCKBERRY has achieved a phenomenal success and sold out all of the tickets for their debut concert within just three minutes. In this interview, the band talked about the pressure they felt to sell out their debut show, their production process, and being an idol group. Despite this huge success they experienced so early, they are determined to work harder and harder to become a global band. I cannot wait to see the music they will offer and the many great achievements they will have in the future.

All members have been in the music business for a long time but started at zero when they established breakin’holiday. Reading how open-minded and motivated they are made a great impression on me. One member espically surprised me with his random hilarious answers.

G.L.A.M.S

If the fact that G.L.A.M.S. was one of the first Japanese artists to go overseas after the pandemic started doesn’t already prove how much Mikaru and his members love to play overseas and treasure their fans all over the world, our interview with Mikaru will definitely do so. I had a blast reading his enthusiastic replies regarding G.L.A.M.S’ European tour this year and his expectations for the band’s very first gig in the USA. It was also nice that he made it very clear how much he values his time with his fans during events, and that he gave us a glimpse into his song composition and art creation process, as well as his private life (hobbies). I am sure it is just a matter of time until G.L.A.M.S will decide to play overseas again, so definitely check them out!

GOTCHAROCKA

Releasing their 10th single the year of their 10th anniversary without even noticing it is typical of GOTCHAROCKA, just like finding an original name for all the instrumental versions of their songs. The band show us their love for language by adding words in several foreign languages within their lyrics and creating neologisms in Japanese. They’re definitely a band you have to check out for their cheerful music!

鴉−カラス−/KARASU

They had members leaving the band shortly after our interview, so the timing was quite fortunate, I’d say. We were probably the last site to interview all the original members. The interview was really funny! And they really like to express themselves in exclamation marks!!!

LM.C

The name LM.C might evoke a lot of nostalgic feelings for a lot of (Visual kei/Japanese music) fans, but let us tell you: maya (vo.) and Aiji (gt.) are still very much active. After debuting almost 15 years ago, the duo has challenged itself to various genres of music, from pop-punk to pop-rock, electro-pop, rap-rock, and even hard-rock, and the tour final of their “KAIBUTSUEN” tour showed us that they have indeed become just as changeable as chameleons. Moreover, maya (vo.) singing songs together with fans for the first time after 3 years of the pandemic showed us how deeply connected the duo is to their fans. Make sure to check out our live report and give their latest album “KAIBUTSUEN” a listen. I am excited to see which side of them the duo will show us next.

MATENROU OPERA

Matenrou Opera is one of the few bands that has remained active no matter the obstacles in their way. It’s been quite a few years since they’ve been overseas for concerts, but they still remembered how those concerts felt! I haven’t seen any English interviews from them recently, so I was really excited to share the interview with the overseas fandom.

NELLFIN

Even though Nellfin has made rather few releases so far, it’s fascinating to see how much effort and thought is put into their work. It must be challenging for sin (guitar) to be responsible for all aspects when composing and mixing new music, but he and JURI (vocal) manage to create a distinct musical concept for their band nonetheless. Some questions also shed a small light on the personal sides of the two musicians, which makes the interview even more interesting. So if you’re eager to learn about this creative duo, make sure to check out this interview!

sleepyhead/ TAKERU

Most people likely know Takeru because of his former band SuG, which was very popular within and outside of Japan. But also with his solo project sleepyhead, Takeru made a name for himself. After 15 years in the music business, he put an end to his musical activities – for sure a big surprise to many. It was an honour to talk with Takeru about his best-of album and his musical career. It was a rare and very special opportunity to talk to someone who has been in the business for such a long time and achieved so much. I can only recommend this interview to anyone who wants to read about his personal thoughts about himself, his career and the music business.

SPLENDID GOD GIRAFFE

Just like their unique name, SPLENDID GOD GIRAFFE has a unique sound and a brand new atmosphere that is exactly what’s been lacking within the scene’s new wave. In my opinion, the relatioship of trust and closeness they displayed in this interview is not only lovely to read, but really important for a band’s growth as well. Last but not least I want to point out how amazing it is to see that they value their overseas fans so much! They actually consider the fans’ situations after the pandemic when choosing their next live perfomance´s format! It just goes to show how important each one of us is for the trio.

zigzag

Not only within Japan, but also overseas, zigzag is a hot topic within the visual-kei scene. The band’s popularity is unstoppable and for a good reason! Their music combines raw visual-kei with surprisingly traditional elments. Perfoming at Budokan is a lifetime goal for most bands and zigzag managed to sell every available ticket, which definitely shows the band’s fame. However, in my opinion, what makes them worth checking out, besides their incredible music, is their outstanding humor and way of giving their fans the time of their lives during a concert. I think our live report can give you a pretty good insight and will convince you to give zigzag a try.
